Although automotive is perceived as a male-dominated sector, this situation will change drastically in the near future with the transformation of electric cars. The electric car production sector will provide women with opportunities to find more space for themselves in the automotive industry as technology and software-intensive initiatives. G\u00dcNSEL, the domestic car of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, is a good example to see this transformation.<\/p>\n
GUNSEL’s Power: Women<\/strong> About one-third of G\u00dcNSEL employees are women. As designers, industrial design engineers, procurement engineers, project engineers, automotive engineers, mechanical engineers, composite engineers, cabling engineers, women take responsibility in many different units of G\u00dcNSEL, from R&D to production. \nG\u00dcNSEL, which develops and produces electric cars from the very beginning of the production process, is also a technology company compared to conventional automotive companies. As the software and applications stand out as the main components of 100% electric cars, electric car manufacturers such as G\u00dcNSEL are planning to transform into one of the most important service companies of the future not only because of their production style but also with a business model based on “mobility” which is one of the rising concepts of our age. For this reason, women taking place in G\u00dcNSEL production facilities are not only in charge of traditional departments such as human resources or corporate communication but take place at the center of direct production and R&D.<\/p>\n
\nTuba G\u00fcven Zurnac\u0131, Founding Executive Board Member of G\u00dcNSEL, says that electric car companies will be among the companies with the highest female employment rate. Emphasizing that women lead each unit of G\u00dcNSEL by taking responsibility, Zurnac\u0131 said, \u201cWe will continue to increase the employment of women in G\u00dcNSEL. G\u00dcNSEL’s doors are wide open to women who want to change the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
