Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Minister of Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu tested TRNC’s domestic car GÜNSEL in the test drive area of GÜNSEL Production Facilities located on the Near East University campus and received information about the ongoing mass production process.

During the test drive, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel accompanied Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu. Following the test drive, Minister Amcaoğlu and the accompanying delegation also visited GÜNSEL Production Facilities and received detailed information about GÜNSEL’s mass production studies and the development process of the vehicle. Making a statement during the visit, Minister Amcaoğlu emphasized that GÜNSEL will give tremendous momentum to the TRNC.

Defining GÜNSEL as “a very important initiative that will accelerate the country”, Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu said, “I have never used an electric vehicle before. I didn’t expect its performance to be this strong. It is no different from the vehicles currently on the market. It is a very powerful vehicle in terms of performance, equipment and comfort.” Saying, “A vehicle has been developed to meet the needs of users with every feature”, Minister Amcaoğlu expressed his gratitude; “I congratulate everyone who contributed to this important initiative that will accelerate the country”.

Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said that they continue to work hard for mass production preparations with full force and said that GÜNSEL will appear on the world’s roads as a car produced in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
