UBP Secretary General Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, Nicosia MPs from UBP Ahmet Savaşan and Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, Famagusta MP Hüseyin Çavuş Kelle, Lefke MP Fırfına Karanfil and Kyrenia MP Hasan Küçük and YDP Secretary General Talip Atalay visited the TRNC domestic car GÜNSEL, received information about mass production activities and future plans before the meeting, and also took a test drive with GÜNSEL B9s.

National Unity Party (UBP) and ruling partner YDP deputies visited GÜNSEL and got information about the domestic car of the TRNC. The UBP and YDP delegation which was welcomed by Near East Enterprises Board of Trustees and GÜNSEL Chairman of the Executive Board Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, included UBP Secretary General Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, UBP’s Nicosia deputies Ahmet Savaşan and Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, Famagusta Deputy Hüseyin Çavuş Kelle, Lefke MP Fırfına Karanfil and Kyrenia Deputy Hasan Küçük and YDP Secretary General Talip Atalay.

Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises and GÜNSEL Chairman of the Executive Board Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel made a presentation to the delegation of the deputies who tested the GÜNSEL B9s in the test drive area located on the Near East University Campus, covering the works carried out at GÜNSEL, preparations for mass production, future projections and the contribution of GÜNSEL to the country’s economy. After the briefing, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel and the deputies made statements.

Making a statement after the test drive and informative meeting, UBP Secretary General Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu addressed to Prof. Dr. İrfan Günsel and said “Great things can be accomplished with big goals. You also have this vision. We thank you for making us partners in this vision. While listening to you, our horizons have also expanded. We all heard this excitement for our country.”

UBP Nicosia Deputy Ahmet Savaşan said, “The goals and vision we listened to excited us for the future of the country. There are messages that we politicians, especially our council of ministers, should receive.” Drawing attention to the legal arrangements that must be made for GÜNSEL to reach its targeted capacity, Savaşan said, “Very important political steps to be taken in order to improve the infrastructure, make the green energy issue a state policy and pave the way for GÜNSEL, which will provide an industrial transformation in our country, are waiting for us.”

UBP Nicosia Deputy Sadık Gardiyanoğlu said, “We must start working hard to make the country’s infrastructure suitable for the mass production of GÜNSEL without wasting time,” and added, “Increasing electricity generation capacity with new energy investments and strengthening the road and port infrastructure should be our top priorities. In addition to the ports of Kyrenia and Famagusta, the construction of a new port that can handle an export of this scale may be considered.”

UBP Kyrenia Deputy Hasan Küçük, who said that they are preparing a draft law on special industrial zones, emphasized that there is a need for special industrial zones in the TRNC, especially in a location close to the port areas, and said, “We have a historical responsibility on us.”

Emphasizing that GÜNSEL is not just a Near East Enterprises project, the Near East Enterprises Board of Trustees and GÜNSEL Chairman of the Executive Board Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “GÜNSEL is a national development project of this country”. Stating that GÜNSEL is a universal project as well as a domestic one, Prof. Dr. Günsel said, “Today, GÜNSEL, which has suppliers from more than 30 countries and receives distributorship and on-site production requests from many countries from every continent of the world, is a universal initiative that has its roots in these lands.”

Stating that many countries in the world are striving to produce their own cars by taking advantage of the electric car transformation, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “The electric car transformation has removed all barriers to its entry into the world automotive market. By putting GÜNSEL, which we started to develop at the right time, into mass production, we will ensure that Northern Cyprus takes its place among the few countries that produce its own automobiles.
