Near East University donated 200 thousand TL to Turkish Red Crescent to fight forest fires in Turkey

Near East University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel visited the Turkey Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başçeri in his office and conveyed his get well wishes for the forest fire disaster in Turkey. During the visit, where the unwavering bond of affection between the Northern Turkish Republic and the Motherland Turkey was emphasized, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel stated that they supported the donation campaign initiated by the Turkish Red Crescent to combat the ongoing forest fires in Turkey with 200 thousand TL.

During the meeting, the Turkey Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başceri and Near East University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel made statements.

Ambassador Ali Murat Başceri: “We once again felt that we were one united heart.”
The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia, Ali Murat Başceri, said, “We have been going through a difficult process in firefighting in our country for about a week. I am sure that we will get through this difficult process as soon as possible. I would like to thank all our brothers and sisters living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus who have supported our efforts in the fight against fire during this difficult process. They showed this support and solidarity with us by wishing us to get well soon, conveying their condolences, and supporting the aid campaigns on various platforms.”

Ambassador Başçeri thanked the Near East University for its support to the aid campaign initiated by the Turkish Red Crescent, and said, “I would like to thank the Near East Family for their sensitivity. They made us feel once again that we are one united heart.”

Expressing that they are following the forest fires in Turkey with great sadness, Near East University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “We feel that our lungs are burning. Turkish Cypriots show their loyalty to their homeland and being one united heart in difficult times. We are very very sad. We want to do our best. Therefore, we decided to support the donation campaign started by the Turkish Red Crescent with 200 thousand TL. Through our Honorable Ambassador, we convey our best wishes to all our brothers and sisters who were affected by this disaster in our motherland.”
